๐ Ingredients:
For marinating chicken (boneless or with bone, 300-400g):
- 1/2 cup yogurt (curd)
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Fresh coriander + mint leaves (chopped)
For rice:
- 1 cup basmati rice (soaked for 30 min, then cooked 80% done)
- 1/2 tsp ghee or oil
- 1-2 cloves, 1 bay leaf, 1 cardamom (optional for fragrance)
Others:
- 1 sliced onion (air fried till golden brown for garnish)
- Saffron soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk (optional)
- Ghee or butter – 1 tsp (optional for flavor)

1. Marinate Chicken
- Mix all marinade ingredients with chicken.
- Let it rest for 30 mins (or overnight in fridge).
2. Air Fry Chicken
- Preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3-5 mins.
- Place marinated chicken in a greased tray or foil.
- Air fry at 180°C for 10-12 minutes, flip once midway.
- Chicken should be 90% cooked.
3. Layering Biryani (in cake tin or air fryer-safe bowl)
- Grease the bowl/tin lightly.
- Layer ½ cooked rice, then add the air-fried chicken.
- Top with the rest of the rice.
- Drizzle saffron milk, fried onions, ghee, mint & coriander.
- Cover with foil.
4. Final Cooking in Air Fryer
- Place the bowl in air fryer.
- Air fry at 160°C for 10 minutes to let flavors blend.
